We live in a very old house(1765) which used to be an old tenement that housed a few families.  The house was converted into one house many years ago with two shops below us.

Our garden is in three layers and it is very steep.  On the first floor we had decking build so that we were on the same level with the first floor of the garden and can walk straight out into our garden.  Underneath the deck we built a summer house which we have converted into a cat house so that our cats can be outside if they wish and have somewhere to go to rest, eat, and sleep if they want to.  On the opposite side there is another large house which is also heated.  These houses also give them shelter from the sun and rain.

On the decking level we have another house but smaller which the cats can again use when they want.  On the opposite side of the decking we have another house for the cats which has a covered run and is left open at all times.

We have just finished extending the area onto the second level.  We have fenced off another 5 x 5 metre area which we have covered with grass, bordered down two sides with some nice tall growing plants and also built a fish pond with a small fountain.  Our cats love this as they laze in the sunshine and paw in the pond. So far we have been quite lucky as they have not noticed that we have put fish in the pond.  We also have a lot of wildlife that comes into our garden like squirrels and birds.  Our cats love to sit on their shelf and watch them.   This whole area of our garden has been covered over with bird netting that is very light weight but also strong enough to keep our cats safe and they can enjoy an outdoor life if they wish.

Hope you enjoy our garden as much as our cats and ourselves do.  If you would like any advice on how to net off your garden please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to give to our best advice.

We have just opened up the steps area, moved the gate to the top of the steps, removed the wired mesh and replaced it with trellis.

We are making a new wild life garden to encourage more birds and insects into our garden.  We have planted shrubs and flower that attract all sorts of wildlife.  This is our wildlife area finished

Opposite our wildlife area we are extending the area which our boys can run.  We are meshing it off, laying turf, planting a few shrubs and  building a couple of shelves for them to run and jump from.  This area has a great view for them to sit and watch the squirrels and birds feeding.

Here are a couple of photo's of the area which we have just started to fence off.  It is actually bigger than it looks.

(This is our youngest Retriever "Piper" always got to be in picture)

Getting there, we had laid some of the tuft and planted a few plants.
